Detailed Description

Description\n\nThe AC-MX-44 is a 4×4 HDMI matrix switch supporting HDMI 2.0(a/b), HDCP 2.3, video resolutions up to 4K, and bandwidth up to 18 Gbps. This switcher enables any source (Blu-ray, UHD Blu-ray, satellite receiver, game consoles, PCs, etc.) to be displayed on any connected screen. It equalizes and amplifies the output signal to ensure reliable transmission over long HDMI cables without signal degradation.\n\nEliminate common issues such as lip-sync delay, EDID mismatches, and mixed-capability display systems with this matrix switcher. Built-in audio delay allows you to easily manage lip-sync issues, while integrated HDMI scalers ensure you don't have to sacrifice 4K signals when working with legacy displays. Furthermore, advanced EDID management offers maximum flexibility for today's diverse array of sources and displays.\n\n* key benefits\n* specs\n* resources\n* in the box\n\nHDBaseT Compatibility Mode (HDBT-C) – This proprietary technology converts high-bandwidth 18Gbps signals down to 10.2Gbps using an advanced algorithm that minimizes visual impact. This allows you to transmit high-bandwidth signals over long distances to displays that do not natively support 18Gbps. HDBT-C is configured independently per output, giving you complete control over down-clocked runs.\n\n4K Up/Down Scaling – Like other AVPro Edge matrix switchers, this unit features built-in scalers on every output. These scalers allow you to upscale HDMI outputs from 1080p to 4K. For HDBaseT outputs, you can downscale from 4K to 1080p to ensure compatibility when using third-party HDMI extenders. Note: Downscaling is not available on HDMI outputs, and upscaling is not available on HDBaseT outputs.\n\nExtreme EDID Management – Featuring 29 pre-loaded EDIDs, including HDR profiles, encountering "no signal" issues is a thing of the past. Manage the input side effortlessly by selecting a pre-loaded EDID, or instantly read and apply an EDID from any connected display to your desired input with the press of a button. Say goodbye to EDID headaches.\n\nDual Audio De-Embedding – Our flexible audio de-embedding capabilities include:\n\n* Extraction of 2-channel PCM audio from each output (via balanced 5-pin terminal block; pre-made conversion cables to L/R available). NOTE: The analog port supports 2CH PCM only. For audio downmixing, please refer to the AC-AVDM-AUHD or our AXION matrix switcher line.\n* Four digital optical Toslink outputs supporting 7CH LPCM, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital +, DTS, and DTS Master Audio.\n* Flexible audio routing options:\n + Bind to output (extracted audio follows the video switching, default mode)\n + Bind to input (extracted audio is locked to the corresponding input channel)\n + Independent (extracted audio can be freely routed, allowing the de-embedder to function as a standalone matrix)\n\nAudio Delay – Manage audio delay independently per output on balanced or digital connections. With up to 630ms of adjustable delay, lip-sync issues are completely eliminated. Audio delay can be configured directly from the front panel for quick, intuitive setup.\n\nBuilt-in Test Pattern – The unit includes an internal test pattern generator for each output, allowing you to verify downstream AV infrastructure instantly. Test patterns save hours of troubleshooting and help identify potential issues proactively.\n\nEasier Installation – Powered by the intuitive AVPro Edge User Interface, installers of all experience levels can deploy large video distribution systems faster and more efficiently than ever. Streamlined workflows enable companies to complete projects more quickly, saving valuable time and energy for new installations.\n\nIdentify Issues Before Leaving the Job Site – The built-in web interface allows integrators to verify the signal integrity of every video feed. Advanced HDMI and HDBaseT diagnostic tools help pinpoint issues related to cabling, EDID, or resolution instantly. Leave every job site with complete confidence, delivering a professional installation and maximizing profitability.\n\nBuilt-In Simple Video Switching Control – With administrator controls, you can grant limited access to the user interface for end-users. This is ideal for bars, restaurants, and corporate environments where staff need basic source switching without altering the full system configuration, diagnostics, or volume levels. This flexibility also helps accommodate client budget constraints without sacrificing project wins.\n\n| | |\n| --- | --- |\n| Video: | |\n| Video Resolutions | Up to 4k 60HZ 4:4:4 |\n| VESA Resolutions | Up to DCI 4k (4096×2160) |\n| HDR Formats/Resolutions | 420, 422, 444 (10 and 12 Deep Color) HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG |\n| Color Space | YUV (Component), RGB (CSC: Rec. 601, Rec. 709, BT2020, DCI, P3 D6500) |\n| Chroma Subsampling | 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0 Supported |\n| Deep Color | Up to 16 bit (1080), up to 12 BIT (4k) |\n| Scalers (HDMI) Per OUTPUT Optional | 4k to 1080P Down-Scaling (Resolutions Only, Framerate Stays the same), and 4:4:4 to 4:2:0 (See manual for more info) |\n| Audio: | |\n| Audio Formats Supported HDMI | PCM 2.0 Ch, LPCM 5.1 & 7.1, Dolby Digital, DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-X, Dolby Atmos |\n| Audio Formats Supported Extracted (TOSLINK) | PCM 2.0 Ch, LPCM 6 CH, LPCM 7 CH, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus |\n| Audio Formats Supported Extracted (2CH Port) | PCM 2 CH |\n| Audio Extraction Location | Bind to INPUT, Bind to OUTPUT, or Matrix (Independent) |\n| Audio Delay (Per OUTPUT, Extracted) | Up To 630ms |\n| Distance: | |\n| HDMI IN/OUT (4K60 4:4:4) | Up to 50 Feet (Using Bullet Train HDMI) |\n| HDMI IN/OUT (W/ AOC Cable) (4k60 4:4:4) | Up to 130 Feet (Using Bullet Train AOC) |\n| Other: | |\n| Bandwidth | 18Gbps |\n| HDCP | HDCP 2.3 and Earlier |\n| Control: | |\n| Ports | LAN, RS232, IR |\n| Drivers | C4, RTI, ELAN, CRESTRON, URC (For More Information – See Drivers Page on AVProEdge.com/Drivers |\n| LAN Web OS | YES |\n| Ports: | |\n| HDMI | Type A |\n| LAN | RJ45 w/ Web Interface/ Control |\n| Audio (Extracted Digital) | Toslink |\n| Audio (Extracted Analog) | 5 PIN Terminal Block (Balanced) |\n| IR Extension RX | 3.5MM Stereo (3 Conductor) |\n| RS232 | 3 Pin Terminal Block |\n| Environmental: | |\n| Operating Temperature | 23 to 125°F (-5 to 51°C) |\n| Storage Temperature | -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C) |\n| Humidity Range | 5-90% RH (No Condensation) |\n| Power: | |\n| Power Consumption (Total) | 38 Watts Max |\n| Power Supply – Matrix | Input: AC 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz Output: DC 12V  4A |\n| Dimensions: | |\n| Dimensions  (Unit Only – Height/Depth/Width) | mm: 44.45 x 225.43 x 438.15 inch: 1.75 x 8.875 x 17.25 |\n| Dimensions (Packaged Height/Depth/Width) | mm: 88.9 x 336.55 x 495.3 inch: 3.5 x 13.25 x 19.5 |\n| Rack Units | 1 Unit |\n| Weight (Unit) | 6.2 lbs.
